Our first selfie, together with my best friend.
I know you won’t believe it. You must be saying hey! Khushboo in this technology era, where everyone has access to mobile phones. You must be kidding.
But trust me I am not. Let me explain this.
Me and my friend had studied together for almost 5+ years. We were best friends in our school time. Everyone does know about this even our teachers used to say like
“You both are going to live and die together.”
And exactly, we used to think the same.
- We used to sit together in the same bench of schools for almost each day. If anyone comes in between us (to sit) we ended up having a complain/quarrel. Funny? I know it is.
- If she bunks the class, I used to be there with her and vice versa.
- Eating, playing, reading we all have done together for years.
But time changes after class 10th our education streams divided us into two. I moved to other college for my diploma for next 3 years and she was there in the same school for next two years for higher schooling (11th and 12th commerce).
We both had decided to continue with commerce subject but not happened.
Later on, she continued her higher studies, and I did the same but in different stream. And we never get a chance to meet again despite being in the same city for several days/months.
Time passed by and from 2014 to 2023 (until today’s 17/07/2023) we never meet each other. Some very minimum conversation was there in online mode. But because we were offline best friends not online friends. May be that might be the reason we don’t text each other. And later we forgot everything even our mobile numbers (which we got through our younger sisters because at that time we don’t have access to mobile phones in class 10).
But two days before I found her on an online app and I texted her immediately, “Hi”. We have a good conversation even after so many years of gap. Don’t feel like I am taking with her after so many years. (I think she had the same feeling that’s why she was so comfortable with me).
And finally, we met together. But I really hope, not to lose her again.
One of my best friends, Namita.
